Arthur leads the miners in rebellion and, deep within the dragon tomb, discovers the truth: twenty years earlier, Queen Victoria poisoned the Dragon Queen, usurped the throne, and Isabella was never of the legitimate royal bloodline. To stop a forbidden ritual, Arthur exhausts his dragon power and is captured and imprisoned. With the help of the old king, Marquis Simon, Bruce, Eileen, and soldiers and civilians who turn against the regime, he escapes, captures White Stone City, and rallies the “Kingslayer” army to march on the royal capital. As nobles and royal troops defect one after another, Arthur storms the palace. Cornered and desperate, Isabella and Victoria activate a sacrificial altar using the souls of countless civilians and summon the demon lord Baal. Deprived of his dragon power, Arthur fights to the death as an ordinary mortal. At the brink of death, he awakens the black dragon once more and ultimately destroys the demon. Isabella is deposed and imprisoned, while Victoria takes her own life with poison. Before his death, the old king names Leon, the rightful royal heir, as his successor. Slavery is abolished, and peace returns to the kingdom. Arthur refuses all honors and rewards, returning alone to the frozen dragon tomb to guard the sleeping black dragon. In the end, a giant egg carrying the last bloodline of the dragons begins to crack, and the cry of a newborn dragon echoes through the tomb, leaving the story with a final note of hope.
