The story

A childhood gift of orange candy from ballerina Elowen becomes the root of businessman Kenton's pathological obsession. After marriage he isolates, confines, and abuses her, tightening control when she becomes pregnant. Elowen secretly contacts former dance partner Philip, but Kenton repeatedly recasts her pleas as prenatal depression, and a violent confrontation causes miscarriage. Moved to another villa, chained, and sedated, she still gets a help number from a nurse and passes clues through a maid. Police finally rescue her and find evidence of other victims in the basement. Kenton is arrested, and Elowen reunites with Philip and returns to freedom and dance.
