Emily, heiress to a wealthy family, was despised by her husband Daniel because of a birthmark on her face. Daniel colluded with his mistress Jessica to trick her into marriage and seize her assets, and even staged a car accident in an attempt to silence her for good. Emily survived, and after a year of facial reconstruction and rehabilitation, she returned reborn under the alias “Victoria Reed.” She returned to Manhattan as an investor, advancing step by step, and made her greedy ex-husband fall hopelessly in love with “the new her.” With the help of a lawyer and a journalist, she secretly gathered irrefutable evidence of Daniel’s extramarital affair, embezzlement of company funds, and document forgery. At a grand proposal banquet, Victoria publicly removed the bracelet covering her scar, exposed his true face, and successfully regained control of the group. Faced with her ex-husband’s bankruptcy and kneeling repentance, she coldly refused him and completely left the past behind. In the end, Emily fell in love with Arthur, her attending physician who had silently protected her all along, completing her self-redemption from a “despised ugly wife” to a strong female lead who controls her own destiny, and embracing true happiness.
