At her wedding, Lyra Vale is publicly humiliated for the black dragon scales covering her face. Her fiancé, Ethan Blackwood, abandons her for the glamorous Serena Ashford, revealing that he never truly loved Lyra—he only kept her close because her touch could calm his unstable dragon fire. That same night, Lyra encounters Kael Draven, the feared Dragon Lord whose deadly Crimson Flame Curse burns anyone who comes near him. Yet when Lyra touches him, the fire dies instantly. Soon after, Lyra discovers she is pregnant with twins. Before she can uncover the truth behind her strange connection to Kael, forged orders, manipulated evidence, and a mysterious explosion force her to disappear from Dragon City. Five years later, Lyra returns as the powerful founder of Vale Technologies, bringing her twins, Luna and Leo. Luna can freeze time. Leo commands golden dragon fire identical to Kael’s. As buried secrets surface, Kael learns the children are his—and Lyra discovers that the scales she spent her life hiding are not a curse, but sealed Royal Scales. The Dragon Throne recognizes Lyra as the lost Dragon Empress. But her greatest enemy is closer than she ever imagined: Morgana Vale, the mother believed dead for decades, who secretly engineered Lyra’s suffering to awaken the legendary Dragon Heart and steal the throne for herself. When Morgana targets Lyra’s children and unleashes a shadow-dragon war, Lyra must fully awaken her golden dragon form, uncover the truth behind Kael’s “curse,” and face a terrifying prophecy in which she appears destined to kill the man she loves. To save her family, her kingdom, and the entire dragon race, Lyra must prove that a true queen is not made by blood, fear, or a throne—but by the people who choose to stand with her.
