Elian, a pure-blood Moon Tide Omega, has been in love with Cedric, the lord of the Sunsea Territory, for three years. He has taken a knife for him, saved his life, and given everything. Yet on the night of their third anniversary, he walks in on his fiancé tangled naked in their own garden with his stepbrother Milo—Cedric's vital scales only open for Milo. Three years of devotion, all lies. Worse, he overhears Cedric's true thoughts: marrying Elian was just using him as a "shield" for Milo. The so-called life-saving act was actually stolen by Milo. Threatened by his stepbrother with suicide, emotionally blackmailed by his cousin, kidnapped and whipped and branded and drained of blood by his fiancé—facing certain death, Elian voluntarily swaps the marriage contract and marries the poisonous monster of the Abyss, the one that "rots scales on contact." Everyone expects him to die. But then Darius, the crown prince of the Abyss, steps out of the shadows—half his face scarred, half devastatingly beautiful. He is a top-class Alpha cursed by poison. And Elian's Moon Tide blood happens to be the only antidote. The tyrant pins him to the wall: "You're never leaving." From sacrificial victim to queen protected by the strongest Alpha with his very life. When Cedric finally learns the truth and kneels begging for mercy, Elian says only one word: "Get lost." Ultimate trash-slagging, madman's desperate regret, fierce husband protection, life-and-death choices at the bone pool—the pinnacle of angsty ABO mermaid-world revenge romance.
