Summer Hayes, twenty-four, a mining heiress, is treated by her father as a bargaining chip to climb into wealth and forced to marry Preston, the eldest son of the Locke family — eight years her senior, someone she's never met. On the wedding day, both of them run away and go their separate ways without ever knowing each other. Disheartened, Summer gets drunk at a bar and pays to "order" a cold-faced man drinking alone in a corner for a one-night stand — she has no idea that this man, whom she treats as a hired escort and even tries to slip cash to the next morning to send him on his way, is her mysterious billionaire husband Preston Locke himself. When Summer, carrying this colossal misunderstanding about her "paid companion," plunges into her new job at Zenith, only to find that her new boss, her hidden husband, and her clingy scumbag ex are all the same people — a side-splitting yet breathlessly tense wealthy-family game unfolds. Preston plays along, lurking by her side as her "assistant," secretly sweeping away her father's schemes, the scumbag's humiliation, the vicious stepmother's malice, and the white-true-love's frame-ups. Summer, too, through one "dimensional strike" after another, grows from a rebellious heiress abandoned by her family into a queen who acquires the entire Hayes Group and makes everyone kneel. When the truth comes out and the identities reverse, this man she once called "poor little thing" uses a belated wedding and a hand-polished gemstone ring to prove to her what a real wife-chasing crematorium is — ultimate satisfaction and heart-fluttering moments detonating at once!
