Harper Jennings, the overlooked eldest daughter, is forced to replace her stepsister and wed Nathaniel Lambert, the heir of the Lamberts, rumored to be brutal and impotent. Refusing to accept a loveless life, she flees on her wedding day but accidentally gets into his car. Not recognizing him as her groom, she begs him for help.
